Google announced a new model, Gemini 4 Argon, on September 30, 2026. Introductory pricing is $2 input and $10 output per million tokens, and the output token ceiling moves from 64K to 1M. Access starts with trusted cyber defenders in the Fairwind Program, with no date given for developers, enterprises or consumers.
On September 24, 2026, Google announced Live Avatar, pairing Gemini 3.8 Live with low-latency video generation. It ships in Gemini Enterprise, and the Google Cloud blog says it is GA on US and EU endpoints. Building a custom avatar requires allowlisting.
On September 15, 2026, Google announced the voice dialogue model Gemini 3.8 Live and the reasoning-focused 3.8 Live Extended Thinking, and made both generally available in the Gemini API. The pricing page lists the two at the same rates, and the models can run tools in the background while the conversation continues.
Google has connected Google Photos to Gemini Spark. A single prompt can run search, editing, album creation and sharing together, and tasks can be scheduled to repeat. Originals are never overwritten, and creating shared albums or sending email asks for the user's permission each time.
Google DeepMind and Google Research released WeatherNext 3 on September 3. Where the previous generation ran on a 25km grid in 6-hour increments, the new model ingests live satellite data to produce hourly forecasts at 5km for key surface variables.
