Cursor introduced builds for Cloud Agents on August 13, 2026 1. A build is a ready-to-use copy of a development environment that Cursor prepares in the background, so agents boot into a prepared environment instead of setting up from scratch each session 1. Builds are included with Cloud Agents at no extra charge 1. Cursor says that internally, environments now boot 10x faster with 3x faster time to first token 1.
Cursor runs new builds of an environment periodically, and once one succeeds, subsequent agents start from it 1. If a bad commit or dependency update breaks an environment, the broken build is never activated and agents keep using the last successful one 1. A Builds tab in the Cloud Agents dashboard shows status, logs, commit SHA, and which build each agent run used 1. New environments use builds automatically; existing ones are switched over from the dashboard 1. The start command still runs when an agent is first prompted, so services that need to be fresh within a session stay there 1. Cursor also added Google Workspace plugins on August 3.
