MacPaw, which runs the software marketplace Setapp, announced a partnership with Liquid AI on August 5, 2026 to co-develop on-device AI technology for macOS. The work combines Liquid AI’s Liquid Foundation Models (LFMs) with MacPaw’s on-device inference technology Elix and its memory layer Mnemos 1. The LFMs are to be designed specifically for AI assistance on macOS 1.
The first product to use it is Eney, MacPaw’s AI assistant for macOS, with results expected later in 2026 1. MacPaw frames the technologies as shared infrastructure that could eventually be made available to Mac developers through Setapp 1.
MacPaw CEO Oleksandr Kosovan said: “Intelligence should live where people work: private by design, fast by default, and be able to reach the cloud when that’s the better tool” 1. Liquid AI co-founder and CEO Ramin Hasani said the partnership “will bring efficient, private, on-device LFMs to millions of Mac users” 1.
